Between Seasons
My thesis film, Between Seasons, was inspired by my reflections on myself and the people I’ve encountered throughout my life. As I’ve grown, I’ve met individuals from different backgrounds and environments whose perspectives and values often differed greatly from my own. At first, those differences made understanding and connection difficult. But over time, I learned that when we take the time to experience, understand, and accept our differences, we can truly grow together and have a meaningful, positive influence on one another.
This realization became the emotional foundation of Between Seasons. Through the story of Theo, a boy who represents summer, and Percilla, a girl who embodies winter, I explore how two contrasting souls can find warmth and connection despite their differences. Their journey from conflict to understanding reflects the transformative power of empathy and acceptance. When their worlds finally merge, a new season spring is born, symbolizing renewal, healing, and the beauty of human connection.
This film represents my artistic vision to portray emotional honesty through poetic storytelling and visual symbolism. With the support of this grant, I hope to refine the film’s animation, sound, and lighting to fully realize the concept of Between Seasons, a story about finding harmony amid difference.
