Blindspot
Should a person in the slums of Rangoon go blind from a disease that had been treatable in San Francisco for decades? Blindspot follows an unlikely pair of doctors: David Heiden, a veteran San Francisco ophthalmologist, and Ni Ni Tun, a young Burmese physician who once dreamed of becoming a flight attendant and turned out to be a remarkable medical mind. Together they launch an improvised, never-before-tried intervention against a wave of AIDS-related blindness the world had ignored. It's a film about what doctors do when the system fails, or when there is no system at all, and the courage it takes to act anyway.
