Departure

Departure is a poetic animated film that explores the journey of love, loss, and reincarnation. Inspired by Tibetan beliefs about the afterlife, the story follows Nanu, a devoted mother who dies unexpectedly unable to meet her children to say her final words.
As her soul enters the Bardo, a mysterious and shifting realm between death and rebirth, Nanu struggles to move on. As Nanu resists the pull toward reincarnation, she is visited by Tara, a goddess of compassion. Tara gently reveals the truth: clinging to life disrupts the sacred balance and binds both the living and the dead in suffering. But love, when transformed, can become a bridge and, in reincarnation, we meet again.
