Soyoko (Mei Furusawa), living with her quadriplegic father Tamotsu (Hidemasa Mase), struggles to gain approval for welfare assistance due to gatekeeping tactics by welfare offices. As inadequate welfare services take their toll, tensions arise when a new visiting caregiver, Sato Kiritani (Rei Ogawa), enters their lives, triggering unforeseen consequences.
